Colorful Chords Transcending About
Standing in the middle of a vibrational field of chords, melodies and bass.
Streaming chords of color traveling in one ear and out the other and into the next listeners ear and out the other. It's a never ending cycle of musical waves transcending through the audience. Vibrations causing each other to come to a state of togetherness and one with the frequency. Smiles are contagious. It doesn't matter who you give a smile to, they smile back with a gesture of recognition that they are in the same place as you are. No drugs. Just the music. A space opens up and I twirl around and dance because the music has taken me over. Others join in and we dance with one another. Feeling the same, hearing the same, being the same. Looking up and seeing the same moon and same stars overhead all of our bodies. We look up at once and look each other in the eyes coming to a awareness once again, we are together, here, now. As the music ascents so does the excitement in everyones eyes. Our awareness of the wave patterns in the music change our perception of the moment and bring us even closer together. Taking a step back I notice the collection of souls swaying simultaneous at different paces, but together creates one musical movement. Blue, magenta, and green florescent laser lights shooting out endlessly into the sparkling night sky and deep into the forest behind me. The fluorescents intertwined with the beat make for quite a magical display of sight. For this moment you feel complete harmony with the sky above me, the brothers and sisters surrounding me, and the music being pumped through the speakers and into our heads simultaneously. I look to my right and I see a circle forming around a girl who is spinning balls of fire on the ends of ropes. With the motion of her hands, she's creating perfectly symmetrical beautiful designs in mid-air. These hula hooping, poi spinning, staff twirling, fire loving maniacs are the essence of entertainment. I this time I am completely free of every worry, every doubt, all negativity. Just flowing perfectly with time, nature, and music. I decide to scamper off through the magical forest, running full speed, in and out of people, under hammocks, and over napping lovers nestled up against a tree. The music I hear in the distance is pulling me in like a magnet. I finally arrive at new stage to experience a new realm of music enlightenment. A full weekend of relaxation, love and music is why I want to keep festivals ever evolving and thriving into the future.

Music Festival Industry?

Tonight I was doing some random research on the music festival industry in general to see what info I could find. I want to know how the industry has progressed through time since the birth of the music festival. It is even hard to find a little information on festival production companies and how the economy looks through the festival producers' eyes, today. How has the music festival changed throughout history? What are all the different types of music festivals? Do they each have different missions? What makes them so appealing? I guess I am writing a research paper. My mind is wandering about things to write about so I'm not bored out of my mind with my topic that I must sustain researching throughout the semester. Run-on and on and on and on. How do music festivals effect people? Besides seeing good music why does the youth spend so much money going to music festivals? I want to find a common theme in the reason why people go to them. I think its a love of togetherness with your like minded peers. I think it is similar to a pow-wow, or a cultural gathering or celebration of some sort. How does seeing live music with in a smaller venue differ to seeing live music with hundreds or even thousands of people? What are you opinions?

My First Attempt in Boycotting Food Owned by Corporation
Yesterday I went to the Famers Maket in Logan Square. I did most of my shopping for the week there. The prices were high but so is the quality. It was really cool picking out tomatoes from a stand, purchasing them, then getting a thank-you directly from the farmer. "Thank-you for supporting our farm". You will NOT get that feeling when buying from a corporate grocery store. I felt as if I were not only buying food that is not genetically modified, pesticide free, and tastes better but I was also supporting a local farm. If only they had butter, olive oil, juice, milk, paper towel, candles and all kinds of other stuff. I would love it if I could do all my shopping and know everything I buy is locally made. I believe one of the most important things right now is to resort to buying everything as local as possible. There are huge corporations that are putting patents on certain foods so that they have complete control over our food and how its grown. If you want to have a choice, and know where your food comes from buy local. Buy directly from a farmer that you can trust.
